Samoset Middle School officially opened its doors to usher in the 1995-1996 school year. This year, we proudly celebrate our 24th anniversary!  We welcome students in grades Six, Seven, and Eight.  Our school mascot is a Wildcat and our motto is “Wildcats C.A.R.E….we are Civil, we Achieve, we Respect, and we Encourage!”

It is our mission to provide opportunities for students to achieve their personal best, become responsible and productive citizens, and embrace lifelong learning in a safe and positive environment. We believe all children can learn and excel with developmentally appropriate materials, practices, and strategies.

Not in the Play Book and Taylor’s Message

Presented by: Chris and Kathi Sullivan

Wednesday, February 7, 2018

Leominster High School Auditorium

122 Granite Street, Leominster

Chris and Kathi Sullivan share their story of hope, love, change, strength, and personal struggles with the impact of alcohol and substance use, underage/binge drinking, and loss and recovery. Kathi, lost her daughter Taylor as a result of underage drinking. Chris, a former New England Patriots player, battling with anxiety and depression, succumbed to substance use, ending his six year NFL career. Together, they want students and communities to embrace creating increased awareness of alcohol and substance use, to develop skills, to seek help when needed and to know that making good choices is life changing.

Resource tables will be available for the community prior to the presentation in the cafeteria.

Project Redemption will be on display from the cafeteria to the auditorium

“Project Redemption” has been created as a collaboration between the “Alyssa’s Place” at AED Foundation and Photography by Veronika Patty to help de-stigmatize addiction and people who struggle with substance use disorder.

People in treatment and recovery are our colleagues and neighbors, our parents, grandparents and children, our family and friends. They come from every walk of life, every socio-economic status, and are of any age. They are soldiers, lawyers, and business owners. They are students and teachers.  They are people who are often dealing with trauma and mental health conditions, and like every other person they deserve love and respect. There is nothing more precious than human life and it must be protected without hesitation and conditions. Every life matters and everyone should have a chance for redemption.

Guiding Good Choices - Parent Workshop Series

6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Alyssa's Place

297 Central Street, Gardner

Guiding Good Choices aims to prevent substance abuse among teens by teaching parents of preteens and younger adolescents the skills they need to improve family communication and family bonding. The program draws on extensive research that demonstrates the critical importance of bonding in reducing or inhibiting adolescent participation in antisocial behaviors. During the course of the program, parents will learn specific strategies to help their children avoid drug use and other adolescent problem behaviors, and develop into healthy adults. Parents will learn to set clear family guidelines on drugs, as well as learn and practice skills to strengthen family bonds, help their children develop healthy behaviors, and increase children's involvement in the family. The program consists of five 2-hour workshops. Light dinner will be served during each session. For more information please contact Veronika Patty at 978-829-2447 or at This program is being provided by GCAT in partnership with LUK, GAAMHA, and the AED Foundation.
